Pi Track: Setting Up Project Timetracking

New projects

Pi Track provides several configuration options that let you tailor the time-logging workflow for your project. To configure time-logging rules, open Project Settings → Timesheet Settings.

The following parameters are available:

Timesheet Mode - defines approval rules for time logs. Available options are:

  • Auto-approve

  • Approve manually

Work Log Policy - defines whether Jira work logs will be created for Pi Track time logs.

  • Create Work Log for time log in any status, except Draft - all time logs except drafts will appear in Jira’s built-in reports and other plugins.

  • Create Work Log for Approved time log - only approved time logs will appear in Jira’s built-in reports and other plugins.

  • Do not create Work Log - time logs created in Pi Track will not appear in Jira’s built-in reports or other plugins.

Billable Hours Behavior - defines how billable hours are handled. Available options are:

  • All hours are billable

  • All hours are non-billable

  • Manual - all time logs are billable by default, but users with the Edit Billable Time permission can adjust the billable amount for each time log.

Allowed Issue Types for Add Time - specifies which issue types allow time logging.

Add Time Behavior for Closed Tasks - defines whether users can log time against closed issues.

Existing projects

For existing projects, you may also want to migrate your current Jira work logs into Pi Track work logs.

To do this, navigate to Administration → Issues → Timesheet Configuration → Import, select the project you want to migrate, and click Import.
